Wearing a Rudrakshas, it is extremely important to take certain precaution and care in order to get maximum benefits from it and to maintain its sanctity.

1. For first time , Rudraksha should be blessed and empowered by worshipping it with chanting mantras at Vedic temple or at home in altar area. 2. For storage of beads for a period of time, always put in a respected area of your house. 
 
3. Although we have come across articles "rudraksha shouldn't be worn during sex" ,there is no harm in wearing rudraksha during intercourse between couples and it has been proven by positive experiences by many couples. Those who would want to have children, according to their wish either husband/wife can wear Rudraksha to enhance it.
 
4. Always wear Rudraksha around the neck so that the beads touches the Heart area. Or For men on right hand and for women on the left hand.
 
5. Do not wear Rudraksha while going to funerals and brothels. This is the most important task to remember.
 
6. Rudrakshas should not be shared / exchanged / transferred /from one person to another person after it has been worn .
  
7. Rudraksha is best if worn in the black, yellow or white colored thread or it can be worn in silver, gold, copper and mixed metal . 
 
8. Never show your Rudrakshas once you have started wearing. Exposing or showing worn rudraksha leads to decrease in effect to the wearer/worshipper.
  
9. During sleeping remove rudraksha or mala and placed in respected area of your house.
 
10. Keep the beads as close to your skin as possible and not let others to touch. Rudraksha can also be kept in Puja room and prayed for benefit of whole family.
 
11. Rudraksha should not be worn during shower/bath. That is to prevent the rudraksha from becoming wet. The water will destroy the beads faster . 
 
12. If anyone wet their beads in water then let it dry in sun for about 5 to 6 hours .This will help to keep beads Healthy.
  
13. When you want to clean the beads , just clean with soapy warm water and new toothbrush .Once you cleaned dry it in sun for five to six hours and again apply the oil. 
 
14. Once you start wearing rudraksha, wear it continuously throughout your life. Those who wear rudraksha for few days and remove it for few days and wearing it again. This method of wearing will not give maximum benefit. 
 
15. Rudraksha's effect can been seen generally between 40 to 60 days but sometime due to lots of past bad karma and problems some people cannot see the major changes in life before a year. Once rudraksha removes past bad karmic sin and problems then only they can see the changes. So don't get frustrated about not seeing the effect faster.
